Background
Precision Label & Tag Inc. designs, prints and supplies grocery store labels, custom packaged food labels, and produce and deli labels for supermarkets across Canada. If you’re in the cheese section, and can tell apart the gouda from the aged British cheddar, chances are it’s because the cheese is stickered with a Precision Label food label. Operating in Markham since 1986, the company first launched a company website in 1996, quite progressive for a printing company at a time where most vendors didn’t have a site or see the need for one.

However in 2014, Precision’s almost 20 year-old frames based site was looking dated. It lacked product photos, online quotation forms, and did not display Precision’s 2000 SKU inventory of pre-printed grocery store labels. They needed a site that was more up-to-date and competitive, and showcased their products and printing capabilities to their channel partners (grocery supplies vendors) and end customers: grocery store and deli managers. By utilizing customer personas, extensive industry and competitor research, and developing an easy to use, modern and refreshed design, the napkin marketing Toronto web design team was able to give Precision Label a website makeover that highlighted the firm’s portfolio of work, modern capabilities and extensive experience.

Solution
The newly design Precision Label website features include:

  • A modern and user-friendly layout with a fresh and engaging design, with responsive design coding which makes browsing easy on any device.
  • Full search engine optimization and copywriting that allows the company to be found on google for key target search terms their clients and prospects are looking for (i.e., label printing, food labels)
  • Responsive, mobile friendly website, with a full catalog visible and searchable on any device.
  • A 500 SKU searchable product catalog with photos, measurement and printing specifications for Precision Labels’ inventory of labels. (napkin marketing took care of all product photography and converting the Precision print catalog to an online format.)
  • Wide panel gallery views of product inventory, that lets customer zoom in on the labels they’re interested in, and browse the company’s portfolio of custom labels.
  • A WordPress content management platform allowing the business owners to easily update their own website content and product catalog.
  • “Request A Quote” Forms throughout the site where prospects and clients can contact them and request quotes.
  • A Woocommerce catalogue allowing their clients to browse their inventory of labels and save their favorites for future selection
  • Private login on the catalogue which lets re-sellers see wholesale label pricing, not visible to end consumers
  • Google Analytics to track how many visitors the site is getting and where they’re coming from.
  • eNews sign up (via Mailchimp), blog and social media links for Precision Labels to stay in touch with their clients.
  • Regular site backups and firewall protection software

Results
Launching the new website helped re-invigorate the company’s search visibility and ability to demonstrate their capabilities to new customers. The number of visits jumped to over 1084% since their launch in January 2015, and the company can now be found on page 1 of Google with high organic ranking on key product terms.

Our Clients Talk:

Our old website was created in 1996, about the time when having a website was considered a novelty. Nowadays having a website is a necessity and our customers have been more than pleased with our new design. Adina and her team completely re-invented our website and tailored it specifically to meet the needs of our customer base. Now our customer can see all our products, in colour, with all necessary information all laid out in an easy to read format. Also, the way they created the website has allowed me to manage content by myself, which is wonderful as we are adding new products all the time. I would recommend Napkin Marketing to anybody who is looking to increase traffic to their website or looking for a modern appeal.
